How H18 Came To Be

_

Since being founded by directors Matt and Jim, H18 has become known for its uncompromising focus on cutting-edge design along with standards-based programming and the unwavering tenet of "We will do it better". The business now enjoys a reputation for building great brands backed by robust, reliable and great looking websites (and online shops) and has some great businesses and organisations in its growing portfolio.

How did it all begin? H18 grew rapidly from its relatively humble inception in Matt's home office after he decided that nearly a decade as a web developer had put him in good stead to start a small web design house. Since then things have really grown! Our recently-refurbished office and large production studio are now conveniently situated in the picturesque village of Newport in Essex, easily accessible by train from all major UK locations. Our in-house team currently comprises 4 full-time staff members.

We're often asked how the name "H18" came about; well, we liked the idea of naming the business after our favourite heavy metal track, "Hangar 18", by legendary band Megadeth. We also liked the fact that Hangar 18, Area 51 (Nevada) is supposedly home to all sorts of secrets concerning alien artifacts. Which sounds a bit like our agency - where all the secrets about great design and development for web and print are kept.
