The brief for Linton Village College was to update their current site with current design trends and functionality, whilst maintaining the strong Art Deco influence of the building and supporting marketing material. The site must appeal to both students and parents alike, be bold, bright and welcoming. We used a strong simple grid layout combined with a contemporary take on Art Deco colouring to give the site a distinct identity and immediate familiarity to the user. Navigation was simplified to include drop down menus in the left hand column when a category was selected, pictures of the students on a 10 image cycle with school introduction, a current events carousel (maintaining substantial amounts of information without the need for an overly long page), a news section and links to each subject in the footer under the relevant area names of the school. |
